So inspiring! BTW i loved the Hulu series❤️ It makes me regret moving out of Cambridge right before starting my MFA long ago at Emerson. I never really connected with my fellow students, in part from not narrowly focusing in one genre (fiction, poetry & magazine writing🙄)—which i can now attribute to my ADHD that wasnt diagnosed for some 25 years from then😆 it was lonely and then i went on to teaching/running workshops, which only really got in the way of working on my own projects. I now belong to 2 online groups but the folks are in Western MA… and my attendance historically has been spotty, and the other is an accountability group where we dont even see others, tho we can chat, and there is a 1 hour clock that clicks down. People arent always even working on their writing in that hour…! The 7 am Novel group has really been helpful in my consistency tho, having misplaced my last novel in process during a big move in 2023 (😳😱), im working on memoir. Michelle you are a great motivational host! Just bummed i haven’t been able to find the novel material (except whats on Scrivener), but youre helping me do the work i’m better prepared to do now, as a writer, than earlier in the trauma years when it was more of a just the facts or an emotional dump. Many thanks!!
Just read "Our Missing Hearts" by Celeste Ng. So beautiful. Hit just the right note between where we are right now and where we could be. (And Librarians are Heroines.)
This was so much fun to watch and super inspiring as well! Thank you so much Michelle- there is truly so much generosity in literary Boston!
Thank you! So glad you found it inspiring (and fun!). I'm always trying to reach those two things in the podcast.
You definitely did! And do 😊
Terrific interview and advice. Love the idea of finding "joy" no matter what.
This is helpful. Can you put a link to the new conference questionnaire? I’m interested
Thanks! The link is in the notes above. Can you access it?
