Although I read Charles Baxter's book, I will re-read it, look for Flannery O'Connor's essay, and do this fantastic exercise.
Today is January 30th, 2024. With this serial more than before, I dread its ending.
You and the authors you select are so brilliant (I hope you feel my jealousy) that I hope you will continue. Books are our best craft teachers (Tim Weed), yet I am slow, and my hand needs to be held (sorry for the passive form).
On reading literary magazines: If you live near a university that offers an MFA writing program their library probably has a selection of current literary magazines in its collection and can be perused for free.
Thank you, Michelle. I am delighted.

So glad it was helpful! (And I actually love that phrase, even though it's passive: "my hand needs to be held") Keep doing what you need!
